So, the topic today is Kanye, you know, Ye we’ll call him Ye, and the parallels of a vengeful Batman. So to begin, Kanye West and Bruce Wayne are both two people who share a shocking amount of parallels and similarities, you know, to start both these men have experienced an intense loss in their life, which define their character and change the trajectory of their lives. Bruce Wayne, he witnessed the murder of both his parents, you know, right in front of his eyes and he had to live with the frustration of not knowing who the killer was and never seeing justice brought to his parents. Now with this, he lost his faith in the justice system, he had a desire for vengeance now that could only be enacted through himself.
And this lack of faith in the justice system is also shared by Kanye, but we’ll get more into that later. Kanye grew up with his mother being the primary caretaker of his life, in his life, sorry, and he lost her tragically to health complications after a surgery she underwent, and due to the nature of the surgery being cosmetic, if she had not gone through with it, she still may be here today. But that isn’t the case and Kanye may never find peace for the death of his mother. Now both Kanye and Bruce are billionaires, you know, at least at one point in their story they’ve had the title of billionaire and they were the heads of large corporations and with the profits, they funded their own personal missions outside of the scopes of their businesses.
So for Bruce Wayne, he had the whole Batman project, you know, that was all funded through Wayne Enterprises and through the profits of all the streams of revenue of Kanye, he’s able to have Donda Academy and the Sunday Service Choir. And these two things are, or these three things, are personal missions that went on to be forces of good within their own, or within society in their own rights. But unfortunately for Kanye, the vengeance he wanted so badly got the best of him and this took away from his ability to do good. You know, in the beginning of the movie, the Batman, the 2022 version, he envisions himself as the embodiment of vengeance and vengeance is a punishment inflicted or retribution exacted for an injury or wrong, right?
And vengeance is not inherently good and in essence, it’s the idea of an eye for an eye, you know, maybe eye for two eyes in some people’s eyes, but, you know, I quote, you know, one could get their lick back, you know, lick back is like a term used to, it’s, it describes the idea of an eye for an eye, essentially. And you could do that, or you could call the police and leave it to the courts to exact vengeance, you know, Bruce Wayne was on a journey to fight evil. And in this case, evil that he wanted to fight existed, not only within, you know, the shadows of society, but under the lights of the government. So vengeance through the courts was out of the question for him.
What happens if you seek vengeance against, you know, what happens if who you seek vengeance against could evade the rules of authority, you know, to exact vengeance, you almost, you almost have no choice but to take matters into your own hands. And Bruce Wayne became Batman, not with the intent to be a beacon of good, but to become vengeance incarnate, you know. And through that, in a way, him and the public shared a common enemy, you know, evil. And now through that, he was regarded as a hero for what he does.
And he’s not a stereotypical hero that save cats from trees or fights off intergalactic aliens. He hones in on crime, on organized crime and corruption within Gotham City. And for that, Batman is not really a good person, you know, because his acts, seeking vengeance, that is objectively not a good thing, or subjectively at least, not a good thing, you know, it would be something that a bad person would do. But through this act of seeking vengeance, and then taking that towards the likeness of evil, fighting evil turned him into a force of good, you know.
So even though he might not be, you know, deep down might not be the nicest person, he’s able to transcend that, you know, through the Batman moniker, and be a force of good. And in the case of Kanye, he wanted to be a good person, in hopes that his words may be enough to spark change within society, you know. His recent album, you know, talks about a lot of topics that are near and dear to his heart, and people listen to it, and it went about their day. It didn’t provoke change, you know.
As soon as he found out being a good person and saying the right things is not enough to become a force of good, he spoke out. During a hurricane relief television broadcast, he took that opportunity to speak out against injustice and discrimination that African-Americans faced, and continue to face, and that just ended up with him looking like he was out of his mind. The offhand quote took the media by storm, and that kind of became an iconic moment in pop culture, but despite the storm these words created, it was nothing compared to the storm that we witnessed in recent years, you know. Kanye was quoted saying slavery was a choice, you know.
He’s making friends with Donald Trump, you know, wore MAGA hats, and the All Lives Matter t-shirts. It was not a good look for Kanye, especially when he began, you know, speaking out against the media, or speaking out against injustice, and then from there, it turned into a war with the media, and look how far this war with the media has gotten him. The media played a big part in his newfound frustration, as they were able to control the narrative, and regardless of what he did or didn’t say, the media always had the final say, you know. Despite this, Kanye was more determined than ever to get his vengeance, as well as becoming a super powerful force of good.
Kanye wanted to be a savior. He wanted to be the black Bruce Wayne. So along with the government, the media became Kanye’s biggest enemy. You know, there was even a point where Kanye dressed up as the Tick.
Not sure if it was for, you know, Halloween, but he was campaigning, you know, to be president, and I guess in his eyes, being a powerful force, he could get that through being the president, and force of good, just has to do the right acts, and he’d become the most powerful force of good on this earth, you know, and that would turn him into a hero. So maybe dressing up like the Tick was able, was him being, you know, trying to get the message across, or trying to live his thoughts, live his dreams. But he faced his enemies relentlessly, and never tiring out, never backing down. To this day, the only way he can stop is when he feels he’s won the battle, and no more action is needed on his part.
Back and forth, Kanye and the media swing blows, and he tried different approaches to achieving his goal. Now, on Billboard, there’s an article of a timeline of Kanye’s 2020 presidential run. You know, the media has played a big part in everything. Eventually, it’s the point where he’s promoting this Kanye 2020 vision.
Kanye 2020 vision, supposed to be, honestly, he never shared his vision, so we couldn’t really understand the vision. We might never see the vision, but along the way, he was able to meet up with some allies. This included Nike, who is now an ex-ally Adidas, Gap. Not sure if they’re ex-allies, I don’t know what’s going on, they’re still selling stuff.
I don’t know. Balenciaga, the stem player, the creative arts agency, Def Jam, you know, and you know, Trump, Candace Owens, if you want to say that, and Elon Musk. These are the people he’s teamed up with along the way of building an empire so big that he could become the most powerful force of good on this earth and become a hero. This turned him into a billionaire.
And, you know, he still had that drive in him, still had that dog in him that he had back when he was writing those lyrics. And in the words of Kanye, I quote, they don’t have to take my life, for they take my drive. Because when I was barely living, that’s what kept me alive, end quote. These are words from a song Kanye wrote years and years and years before any of these major controversies were happening.
But as we can see, Kanye never changed. Only his tactics changed. He’s always been the same person. These people that he teamed up with were only accelerating and fortifying this war path that Kanye was on, and his enemies, and he’s ready to lose anything or anyone that was not on the same mission as him.
You can see the beefs he has had with people including, you know, losing his wife, you know, it altered his family dynamic and the media through punch after punch, you know, they were always saying Pete Davidson has been in trauma. Kanye said Pete was sent to the blah, blah, blah, everything that’s happened to Kanye. There’s all these headlines bashing Kanye after he lost his wife, like, imagine losing your wife, and all you see is in the news, some guy is smashing your wife. And then on top of that, you scroll a little deeper, and they say, and then they’re clowning you.
They’re clowning you, they’re making fun of you. This is the media that he had to deal with. This is the media he was at war with. They landed some critical blows, and Kanye fought back seeking vengeance, not only on the media, but whoever spoke out against him, you know.
We find ourselves in one, we found ourselves in one of the largest media storms that Kanye’s ever been a part of. He made some vengeful comments towards Jewish executives, and they portrayed him as a self-righteous anti-Semite. He then lost his deal with Adidas, and eventually, they said he was no longer a billionaire, you know, losing nearly all of his major brand partnerships, and he’s still yet to admit defeat, or go back on any of his words. In his eyes, anyone who has ever been a part of this system of evil, or wronged him in any way, is deserving of vengeance.
You know, he got de-platformed off of Instagram, and he shared a picture on Twitter where Mark Zuckerberg and Kanye were having a good time. Kanye says, look at this, Mark. How are you going to kick me off Instagram? You used to be my nigga.
But now, Mark Zuckerberg, who is almost controlled by the media, you know, ad dollars, you need people looking at your sites and apps to make money. He has to do what’s best for business, you know, and remove somebody who’s controversial. Adidas, they terminate their partnership with Kanye, and still sold their stuff. Gap and Foot Locker, they removed all Yeezy merchandise.
Gap still went on to sell their stuff, so. And Adidas just made Yeezy-inspired clothes in shoewear, footwear, without the Yeezy moniker. They looked almost identical. Kanye West was dropped by Balenciaga.
And yeah, those are all the major things that negatively happened to Kanye, and that’s not the end of it. Now, coming back to Batman, he’s a character that captivates the minds of many through his unique juxtaposition between being filled with darkness, and still being able to be an intense force of good. Through taming his demons, he was able to become virtuous. There was a moment where he was about to kill somebody, right?
I’ll get to that. Actually. Yeah. In the heat of the battle with his opponent, with his life on the line, Batman realized his place in society.
And he understood that if he does not control the darkness within him, and continue to act strictly on his desire for vengeance, he will take the life of another, making him no different than the people he’s up against. Making him no different than the evil he’s trying to fight. He was very close to killing somebody. But I won’t say he’s a pacifist, but I guess he sees everybody has the right to live.
And no matter how evil you might be, that doesn’t take away from your right to live. So, Bruce Wayne realized his potential to be a force of good and exact justice instead of vengeance, while bringing good to the lives of others. So, he learned that being a good man was not enough. It wasn’t enough to cause a positive impact on society.
But stooping all the way down to his enemies’ level made him just like them. So, he had to find this in-between. Not too good, but not too bad. He’s like walking a green line, a fine line.
One wrong move, you know, and you become a killer just like anybody else. Just like all the evil you wanted to fight so hard to stop. And back to Kanye, even with all the bad press, Kanye has the potential to be a force of good within society. But if he wasn’t so obsessed with his vengeance, you know, the vengeance he wants to get back at the media and get his story, his truth out there and this and that, it’s a losing fight.
It’s a losing battle. The media will always have the last say. Until he has his own social media platform or his own platform where the algorithm forces only good things to be said and only his truth to be said, he will never have the last say. So, if he wasn’t so obsessed with vengeance, he could spend more of his time and energy helping communities.
He begun this war over. Right now he’s a single man on a mission to change the world, but no one person can change this place. We live on a planet full of corruption and evil, but in many places, good still exists. Good people need help.
There’s good people out there that need help and Kanye is able to assist them. His facilities and wealth may have been reduced from what they were at one point, but his abilities to do good still outshine what the average person could do with the same goal in mind. That being said, Kanye must ask himself, what is my goal? Because right now it looks like he’s on a goal to win a war with the media.
And he has to ask himself, can I handle the battle? And being honest, over the last, I don’t want to say decade, but we can go with decade. Actually, yeah, no, even more than a decade, yeah. Over the last, his whole career essentially, from that moment he spoke out against George Bush not liking black people.
Was that a winning war? I know there could be long standing wars, but it doesn’t look like he’s winning this one. He’s still in the same spot he begun. Lastly, he must ask himself, is the goal worth the battle?
You know, because we see now if you speak out against the media, they will exact vengeance in the only way they know how. This resulted in unending barrages against his character and a shift towards the negative in public perception, harming his abilities, reach, and potential. So is this goal to defeat the media, however you might do it, is it worth the battle? You come out being untouchable, unlovable.
If he were to shift his goal, rather than fighting a war against the media, be that change, be that positive, that force of good he wanted to be so bad by being a hero, he could ask himself, am I able to handle that battle? There’s a lot of people doing good out there with far less facilities and resources that he has, so I could say he can handle that battle. Is the goal worth the battle? Now, look at all these charities, what battles are they facing just to make some money?
You already have all these set businesses making enough money for you to do the Donda Academy, Sunday Service. If you just stop paying attention to the media and you shift your attention more towards those forces of good, how much more good could you do? It’s a point where the media could only look crazy if they talk bad about you. But once upon a time, Kanye West was a man on a mission to become a successful artist and make it as something important within the music industry.
All he wanted was to be taken seriously on that journey. He was taken seriously a while, but now all his words are taken seriously, or out of context, or twisted and turned until people look at him as if they can’t take him seriously anymore. It’s an unfortunate cycle. Yeah, so it all comes down to fighting demons.
Conquer your demons. Ask yourself, what is my goal? Can I handle the battle? And is the goal worth the battle?
